GENERATION PROGRESS is PT’s Arts & Education program designed to engage, support and inspire young people to contribute to the progress of their communities. Targeting students from primary school to College and University, PT strives to develop a new generation of theatre-goers. Through affordable theatre classes, discounted school performances, post-show talkbacks, arts workshops and performance opportunities, GENERATION PT introduces theatre as a powerful tool for self-expression and social involvement. PT TEACHING TOOLS
(For Grades 6-12)
Available for teachers and educators, PT’s Teaching Tools, are a packet of educational materials complete with play summaries and themes, lesson plans and activities meant to accompany PROGRESS THEATRE performances. GENERATION PT TEACHING TOOLS help bring the themes of PT plays into the classroom to encourage further learning opportunities and discussion for students who attend PT shows.

All GENERATION PT TEACHING TOOLS lessons are also available to be taught by PROGRESS THEATRE performers and educators in on-site, classroom visits before and/or following a youth organization, classroom or school group attendance to a PROGRESS THEATRE performance. Classroom visits are booked only in conjunction with performance attendance. Additional youth workshops are offered in acting, singing and playwrighting.

WORKSHOPS-IN-PROGRESS
(For youth and adults at all levels of expertise)
“WORKSHOPS-IN-PROGRESS” is a series dedicated to offering affordable performing arts classes, supporting all different levels of expertise and committed to developing methods inspired from the African Diaspora. Workshops are offered in writing, singing and acting to schools, universities, and theatres in conjunction with booked performances.

PT LECTURE SERIES
(for College/Universities and Adult Communities)
Interactive lectures & presentations on various aspects of historical and contemporary Black performance are also available for collegiate and adult audiences. Sample topics include: 19th-20th Century African American Theatre, Cultural Stereotypes and Performance and Hip Hop Theatre.
